Growing up in the hood, I could understand a lot people was addicted to the streets because of the money and local celebrity status. Now that the money isn't really flowing in the streets like before, it seems there are a lot of people in the streets to look cool. Everyday just living to scrape up a few dollars for pills, weeds and alcohol. Begging and guilting your family and friends for a few dollars. Stealing, ripping people off, underground stripping and selling puzzy, and all type of dumb shyt. Every now and then they hit a couple of hundred dollar lick. Blow it fast on a fit, Jordans and high grade weed. Smh. You might as well get a job.

A lot of people clown about the OG Coli Man living with that Mean Old Black Woman, but that's what happens when you stay in the streets too long. No career, no skills, no retirement, minimum Social Security, you can't afford to live alone. You have to shack up in some bad situations.

I know a nikka i Kensington called Abdul. Only reason I met this dude is because my homie wanted to buy weed at 3am after partying and Abdul is the only nikka out serving that late. This dude is like 50

Seeing a 50 year old selling dimes & dubs on the corner at 3am in Kensington is lowkey one of the saddest things I'd ever witnessed.

The black man's glorification and fetishization of the "streets" has been one of our biggest downfalls of the last century. Probably a good few hundred thousand black people in a jail cell right now because they put all their time and energy into being a "real nikka" instead of learning a trade or picking up a book and acting like they have some sense. Truly embarrassing.

True.

We've always had these type of street people, but Hiphop in the 90s really popularized just hanging in the streets and getting smoked out.

I have a friend right now living like this.
Rides around on a bike and flashes money on social media. In and out of jail for small amounts of dope.
The crazy part is, he continues to have babies with all these young ass girls.
With in 4 years , he has created 6 new kids :francis: then gets in folks inboxes and asks for cash app donations to help with the kids.
