It’s reloaded on YouTube. Haven’t watched this in about 10 years or so.
Damn, what a movie. Without going into the weeds with an analysis, watch it again if you haven’t.

Did you enjoy Redux more than the theatrical cut ? I always thought the scene with the Bunnies and the Plantation slowed the movie down. Not taking anything away, they were good scenes. It just didn’t fit in my optionI watch it once a year. Been one of my favorite movies since my mom made me watch it with her when I was 5 years old. She got me the redux VHS for Christmas when it came out. It’s just perfection from front to back.

The whole scene at the bridge ? Roach waking up and blasting a Vietcong with the grenade launcher ? Total and utter chaos.
Roach and Col Kurtz knew what the war was about. Salute to Roach

Also the OdysseyIt’s a great movie but I can’t even explain why. It’s just a feeling I get. Hard to describe.
You can take away so many different interpretations.
The connection to Heart of Darkness is the main one though.
The Carnival music when they get off the boatMy personal favorite ... A film largely about alienation as I see it
My favorite part and encapsulates the ethos of the film
The Sisyphean cycle of building the bridge and it getting blown up just so the officers can save face
Lance tripping out on drugs, taking it in like a gruesome Fourth of July![]()
