I was reading some Ohio forums and discovered that Manziel never sent those tweets about Aaron Craft. Apparently, the guy who faked them sent them out to a bunch of forums to get some hits on his website.

Here it is, with the actual tweets that Manziel did send once he found out what was happening:

Johnny Manziel Never Bashed Aaron Craft, But Someone Used Photoshop To Make It Look Like He Did | College Spun – Social. Local. Consumable. College Sports.

This comment on that link makes a lot of sense:

How did anyone look at the number of retweets and favorites on those “tweets” and not notice there were not any responses on the Ohio, Craft, or Manziel timelines at the time the tweets were supposedly sent? Are people really that gullible?

This kind of thing seems pretty easy to do, using this tool. Kind of makes you look at tweets supposedly sent out by famous people with a more critical eye:

New fake Twitter service that lets you create false celebrity messages could be 'dangerous' | Metro News

I read that Manziel decided to take a break from Twitter for a while, because of the resulting controversy. Probably for the best.

Yeah, that generator could cause trouble, for sure.

I should have added this clip, which was posted to our Google group discussion by an apologetic Buckeye fan. Manziel seems unaware of the Twitter tool that caused the uproar.

I'm not sure about his phone-cleaning methods, though. :weirdo:
