TOO MANY people do this shyt!!!

Taking the top 10% of their nation and comparing it to the total of another is disingenuous bullshyt

It’s a lopsided comparison. The people that make it out of Africa or the Caribbeans into America are usually the best of their countries financially which of course leads to better development.

You’re comparing the cream of the crop of one small affluent community to the whole of a historically oppressed community.

Also, the USA in general is pretty mediocre education wise. Probably the worst of the “developed” nations. There’s a reason that so much STEM talent is imported from overseas or outsourced.

Like most of them like, " You know what, I feel like leaving my Gold and Diamonds behind and uprooting myself and moving to America:jbhmm:"

:pachaha:

Black Immigrants that emigrate to America are the more of the risk takers that want a different life. You'd be surprised, but the ones who leave to America are the ones who couldn't make it in their homeland, or barely making it. They go to Europe and North America because it is easier from an academic and money making perspective. I'll speak on Africa. What the Non-Western world lacks is a "Working Class". In Africa (speaking generally) it is a Wealthy Class, an Upper Middle Class, and Dirt Poor. There are not that many opportunities for upward mobility

Alot don't understand the politics of Career progression in Africa. You succeed on Connections, Family Wealth, or Very high intelligence. That's honestly how it is in the Non-Western world. That old monarchy type of politics exist. When they come to the Western World, they see completely different politics in that they see it as "Wow, I can just work 70 hours a week and study for 20 hours a week, and I can make it". They see the opportunity to fit into the "Working Class" by working extra hard in work and school to get ahead

It's all about Perspectives Brehs

It's a way to downplay black immigrant success. "You only made it because you come from Wakanda and have the gold of Mansa Musa" :martin:

Like you said it's largely the ambitious working class who have been locked out of the top who are coming. The elite stay in their countries and live like kings (they might come for college or for vacation, but they eventually go back).

I can't speak on the Caribbean on Afro-Latino immigrants that come to this country as far as the African immigrants that come to this country, they are at least from middle class homes in their native countries. Unless you're coming to America seeking asylum or as a refugee you have to meet certain financial standards. Typically the process that it takes to come to this country legally requires a lot of money. And on top of that there are educational standards that America has for it's immigrants.

No, most immigrants who come to this country aren't on some coming to America shyt but they are coming from more financially stable and educated backgrounds in their native countries than the average American. And I say all of this as a 1st generation American :yeshrug:

Exactly, it's so see through. It's a 2 way street of ignorance. Thinking only the top people immigrate here, and saying Africa is a "shythole" where everything is desolate

Its really laughable how many people believe this too. I know very well off Nigerians who live like Saudi Arabian princes in Nigeria. They only come to America to vacation and shop. Most immigrants come through visa lotteries and are being sponsored by people already here.

I’m so tired of this fake ass narrative.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MERTICORACY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! ESPECIALLY NOT IN AFRICA!

Most immigrants are of the social elite, relative to majority of the people in their country.

Especially those coming to the US, which has one of the strictest and expensive citizenship processes in the world. And corrupt visa lottery systems gamed by the social elite of whatever country people are coming in from.

Let me quote myself where I was arguing with some Nigerian dude from a connected family that immigrated to Canada and likened himself to majority of the population living off less than 400 dollars a month, as if they’re even remotely similar :

This is factually incorrect, Nigeria is not a refugee country. Immigration is not free, it costs thousands, if not tens of thousands, if not hundreds in some cases if you add up all of the costs. The majority of Nigerians who are immigrating are of an educated social elite, often Igbo, contributing to a brain drain in the country due to its corrupt nature.

This has been well documented for decades:

An African Brain Drain: Igbo Decisions to Immigrate to the US on JSTOR

Nigeria’s ongoing middle-class brain drain is costing it two generations in one swoop

Again, how I quoted with FACTS earlier, almost half of Nigerians live on less than one dollar a day. MOST NIGERIANS ARE NOT IMMIGRATING! :russ:

In fact most poor people out any country worldwide that immigrated to the US ARE NOT IMMIGRATING BECAUSE THEY CANT AFFORD TO EVEN IF THEY WANTED :mjlol:

Nothing
No rich person is uprooting their life to start from the bottom in another country. They might visit and send their kids to study in the universities and that's about it

You have to understand most members of TheColi are Americans who don't really interact with foreigners so they are kinda ignorant.
