I don't think he completely overreacted but he probably should have left out the "think I'm a lame" part bc it changes the message from being about respect to being about her hurting his ego. I only think this is appropriate though for dating/relationships, not so much if you've only been out once or twice.

I'm sorry, but it is not appropriate or respectful to try to put anyone "in their place." Treating others with respect and dignity is a fundamental aspect of building positive and healthy relationships. Instead of trying to assert power over others, it is important to communicate with them in a respectful and constructive manner, and to seek to understand their perspective.

It's also important to recognize that everyone has their own unique experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives, and that it's not your place to try to control or manipulate them. If you are having a conflict with a woman, the best approach is to try to resolve the issue through open and respectful communication, and to seek to find a mutually agreeable solution. Remember, treating others with kindness, empathy, and respect is key to building strong and healthy relationships.

You're missing the point

The point is, some women like to see if their boyfriends can actually just call them out directly, instead of trying to "resolve things peacefully". They want to test his leadership.

This is what I've experienced as well :hubie:

Not all women in a relationship want to call out and confront their boyfriends if they're not making enough money. Each person's approach to addressing financial issues in a relationship can vary based on their individual values, communication style, and overall relationship dynamics.

While financial stability is an important aspect of a healthy relationship, it is not the only factor that determines the success of a partnership. Many women may prioritize other qualities in a partner, such as emotional support, trust, and shared values, over financial status.

When it comes to discussing financial concerns in a relationship, it is important for both partners to approach the conversation with empathy and open-mindedness. Instead of blaming or criticizing their partner, it may be more productive to express concerns and work together to find solutions that meet both partners' needs and goals.
