:russ:

It would take someone about 10 minutes to create one showing that most of that stuff didn't even come from Android.

You're (I know you didn't create it but still) really going to give Android credit for the WebOS multitasking cards?

And Android credit for the Instagram filter layout? And I'm sure someone did it before that.

Also...did you know that Swipe To Delete is a patent owned by Apple because they did it first? Google only implemented that feature after they found a way to circumvent the patent. So what's a bigger bite? The act of swiping itself? Or an extra option after swiping? I'd say the act.

That's just off top, I don't have the 10 minutes needed.

Not only does the new iOS look/feel like Android and webOS had a b*stard child covered in clipart icons, they forgot one of the most important UI/UX features to copy: Widgets.

After all the reviews I've read, this sentence seems to sum it up nicely(and they were talking about the weather icon not updating still):
"Again Apple seems to ignore the utility of glanceable information"

And why does every icon have to be constrained to a square box with 3px border radius? let the icon's breath and be unique with some negative space.

-----

I applaud them for finally changing their mentality and trying to catch up on essential UI/UX features; but this shyt doesn't feel finished or right.

Well Android is a b*stard child of WebOS and iOS so it only seems right, right?

Besides. This looks much more like Windows Phone than it does Android. The features are Android and WebOS though.

What I don't get though is where was the outrage when Google copied Apple feature for feature at the last I/O conference.

Windows would never use a single gradient, gaussian blur or bokeh. iOS 7 is very different than the brand guidelines MS uses in Metro.

And it's all right to copy or "borrow" good UI/UX from one another; because it sets a unified-cross-OS industry standard for how elements work/interact.

It's just they have to add extra; you can't have a keynote announcing you caught up; atleast have a "wow" factor. Airdrop is cool, but android users can download a bunch of similar apps via the Play store, and still have the option for NFC. And NFC is piff, I don't touch phones[pause] with anyone but I use Google Wallet everyday at Duane Reade
