College doesn’t cost that much if you don’t go to one that expensive, my debt was only 17k. Yeah a lot of schools are 20k a year but many are also 10, or 5, or even 3, or free with scholarships. I was in trade school to be an electrician but I didn’t feel comfortable with these Jacksonville cacs that loved cracking black jokes all the time and just throwing me out there without journeymen watching me and all the dust and dirt just destroying my lungs and nose. It’s not for everyone, gotta have a stern mindset. Most people don’t make it through apprenticeships but I appreciated the opportunity. Also they completely discounted the internships and work experience you can get in college. Way I can sum it up is, an apprenticeship has what you need laid out for you, you go along with the program, but college is entirely dependent on what you decide to do there (which could mean wasting your time, or profiting from it)
