Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
No one try to save him from the streets, though. Dude didn't start seriously rapping until he was damn near 30, at that point there was nothing to save. And he was always a grimey corner dude, until later...when he became a grimey block captain. He was never gonna see any real money as a rapper. He best bet was using his charisma to be in front of the camera as a professional full-time. His raps are no more real than Beans, Oschino's, Kre Forch, Chic Raw, Roscoe P, Wyze, Vodka, Frank Grippaz, OT the Real and 100s of other part-time Philly rappers.

The only people from his team that wasn't all there is Lik Moss. When he would talk about Lik, he'd say 'my little brother in jail right now...robbing and shooting an old lady. That's the kind of stuff he did" The rest of them were broke North Philly young'ns that get into anything. There's a bunch of them, and Ar-Abs on every corner in Philly.
We’re almost saying the same thing. People did try and sign him. People did give him money. People did try and get him deals. He said it himself, he was too busy trying to extort nikkas and robbing and moving major kis. Them other rappers was rapping STORIES. This nikka was an active drug kingpin and murderer but with fire ass bars about the shyt right now. As he said, they go do a murder, put it right in the song. Every bar was real life.

You want “when keeping it real goes wrong”. This was it. 99% of rappers cut the street shyt out when they get on. Or even get a chance. This dude did not slow his movement a bit. In fact, ramped it up. That’s off to me. You a real dead in the eyes as nikka to be doing it like that

if he was this reckless without his mouth... I'm sure he was just as reckless in the streets when it came to evidence.

But those who was in the streets KNEW everything was real.
Not sure if ppl here were aware of him back then but he was already in jail for a body he caught for cassidy. He basically hit the youtube scene talking shyt about cassidy in interviews after he got out, but it was never any question about his authenticity since most people learned about him from the cassidy murder.

Who tried to sign him though? Who was giving him money? His whole thing with Cass was that he was running with Cass, and still broke, and that was for damn near a decade. Swizz could've signed him outright. He didn't. He was with Cass through the Melo deal. No one signed him. Even the Cash Money ish that people thought he signed never happened. He was always a street dude. They were another North Philly crew that hustled, robbed folks and weren't afraid to get their hands dirty. No one feared them, they weren't heavy. The folks they robbed would also retaliate, and get back. Have you ever seen OBH? They're compiled of broke rowdy young'ns. Half of those dudes in the indictments didn't even have cars. By the time they were on their way to being major, they were booked. There's a bunch of crews like OBH on every block.

None of them other rappers I named were just rappin stories. They were all active in the streets and doin music, and tellin their lives in the music. Hell, Oschino had like 5 cases all throughout his Roc-a-fella tenure, including fighting several bodies. Roscoe P was into the same ish, then rap about it. He just stayed away from the cameras most of the time. There was this one DVD he was on, dude pulled all types of crazy ish from under the couch, and said don't fukk with me, I won't fukk with you. Then would rap about people he robbed. But dude just came home on appeal from a life sentence for a double homicide, after like 15. Take Down Records out Southwest Philly had a couple of folks just come home on appeal. They got caught because they were major, and the rappers were 2 feet in, but the big toe out lol. The kingpins were not rappers, one got life +55yrs. 50 was trying to sign Chic Raw, Quilly, Haddy all at some point. Chic was on the run fighting a fed case, Haddy & Quilly regular street stuff. Mike Knox was G-Unit Philly....all of them except Tone Trump went to jail, Knox recently came home from the Feds. Gillie's major case came after 1M from Ruff Nation, 6-figures from Draper and 6 figures from Cash Money. There's more rappers from Philly that stay in the streets than those that leave completely. Even going back to Ram Squad - they are the only rappers that could ever say they ran Philly. Made money indie, got money from a major, and stayed in the streets. These dudes had money on the streets, major weight, and were in bed with Skinny Joey/Merlino Crime Family when there was still a mob to be respected. They put in real work, "allegedly" doing hits, putting out hits, and all, but were "rappers." They were legitimate kingpins.

OBH was just another crew...only more known outside because of Ar Ab's connection to Cass. He was a part-time rapper that the cameras loved, and loved the cameras, but 100% in the streets.
