Arcadium's Gamer of the Year?

I've been thinking of a new category that we could come up with for the year. It's kind of a tricky concept though. I spoke of it in a different thread but the idea behind it is, we have the Poster of the Year for members making this forum better, whether that be through discussing gadgets/games/entertaining threads/etc.

But maybe we could have an award for the person who's playing the games instead of just talking about them.

The tricky part is, there's obviously more than one platform here that people play. And while you could nominate someone, should there be a certain criteria for nominating that person. Should it about be how they perform in competitive play? Should it be more about the amount of trophies/achievements they have? Should it be how many games they played this year. Maybe just your own personal experience gaming with them? Or could it just be a collection of all these things?

I'm curious if you guys think this is a good/wack idea; if you think there's a clear distinction between poster and gamer of the year or if they should be one of the same. And if you feel like it's a good idea, feel free to drop nominations and why you're nominating that person.

You would have to make it clear what you were basing it on. Is it most games beaten? Will difficulty setting matter? Who owns the most games?
I feel like the idea is a bit too broad. The winner of the street fighter tournament should have gotten a banner though imo.

I think it's a good idea. I think it should be a collection of all those things. If someone is known for playing a lot of games, the forum knows about them. If someone is known for being a beast in a particular game, like SFV or BF etc... they know about them. Trophies/Achievements would be good to see a gamers variety, but I wouldn't say it should hold that match weight, because a lot of dudes might only have 1 or 2 go to games. Maybe another way to gauge this is for gameplay footage too. Like their best clips over the year or something

I think perhaps a merit system of each of those categories could be used to guage who's worthy.

I vote @itsyoung!! He spent over 2000 hours gaming this year (a little under 40 hours a week) while being a business owner banging dime bytches with ease.

U gotta respect a grown man that can game 83 days (2000 hours) in Starcraft in his mansion in a calendar year
