I'm not in this field, but I was interested in it and I researched a lot of schools who offered it. The deal breaker for me, was you cant take evening or online classes to be an architect because you have numerous design lab classes to take.

From stories I've heard from friends majoring in Architecture there are a lot of all-nighter projects they have to do. Whether or not that's because the workload is high or if they just don't work on stuff progressively I don't know. Seems like an average of 5-6 years to finish the degree as well.

I'm A building surveyor and I do bits and pieces of land surveying
I've got a degree in construction management worked for a few years as a site manager and in asbestos surveying (picking up other skills as I went along)
With the land surveying I know a guy who done an online course in land surveying and then got a position as a trainee and built his way up

Depends where your at and how much you can sacrifice :yeshrug:

P. S. As with every job contractors are making stupid money and if you go into a specialist environment such as the rail industry you've got more security with

P. P. S I'm. Not rereading or spell checking this shyt :blessed:

Land surveying is good money, in a lot of places you are the only game in town, you can go to a small metropolis and really eat, $500 a pop just to walk around with a unicycle in one hand, what a hustle :ohlawd:

Architects are cool. I'm working as an apprentice carpenter. If u can minor in it and major in engineering bc they aren't needed as much as you think they are. But engineers are

I have a degree in geomatics and survey engineering...
In the us...the only way to truly make bank as a land surveyor is to go this route or devote your entire life to collecting data in the field...
The downside for my brehs out there, os that the industry is entirely old white guys...half these dudes racist as fukk and it pains me to say that because the job is pretty fukking cool...
Architecture is a hard game to get into as well...
What i woukd advise one do is get their faa107 pilots license for drone operation...its the next wave in mapping...working on mine now and its really no more difficult than a drivers license test

I'm registered fir a intro surveying course at the community college. It's a requirement for my construction management degree but I always looked at it as a potential branching point where I can create a business with minimal certs.
