nikka, the city was mexican BEFORE it was american. what kind of stupid question is this? Even if they deport the mexicans or they leave, it was STILL mexican. Also the census you're looking at is only LA basin, not greater LA. San Fernando had people that still pledged to the mexican govt or california republic. These things are taught to us in school in LA.
They simply trickled back in, they literally doubled in size. during the very early days, they didn't count mexicans or indians in the american census, thats why they jump from 1920-1940, literally twice.
You notice the people that DO NOT live in LA are sitting here patting themselves on the back, talking shyt like they know whats up, while everyone that lives in the city, know the real. Its just that simple, unless you live in LA, keep your mouth closed about the city.
