I need a new machine for my software development. My current setup ain’t cutting it no more. First I looks at a Mac mini but Apple products are over priced and stingy when it comes to spec.
The new MacBook Air with the M4 chip appear to be incredibly and excellent for software development. The baseline models are a good entry level.

Apple devices are too stingy when it comes to specs. and I already have 2 laptops and a tablet. I want a desktop, but one that's portable. The only Apple device that's cheap are ipads, but they're useless because they don't run mac OS. And if they ever made an Ipad that ran mac OS they would probably charge $1899 for the base model.

never had one but they seem aight. I'm a fan of Intel NUCs for dedicated, small form factor machines tho.

I ended up getting a MacBook Pro M4 Pro. 24 gigs of RAM and a 512 gb hard drive. The cost would’ve been the same as what I was going to get which was 2 mini pc’s. One windows and a Mac mini. :manny:
Powerful machine. Are you going to use VMWare or Parallels?

Nah, I haven't even used it for coding yet. I downloaded xcode and played around with it. Im currently building my desktop application with my tablet pc. Once it's don't i will test the mac version on the macbook, then build the website and mobile apps on the mac. My tablet PC can't handle Android studio or Docker. Had this bytch running like it was Windows 95. But mac OS > Windows.
