I had at least two Palmetto Bugs walk right at me after I clearly tried to kill them :dahell: As soon as they walked towards me I stomped on them hard as fukk...

I was chasing one around trying to kill it and then it got to a point where me and the Bug got into an stare down :demonic: after a few seconds of standing still it charged at me and I killed it :win:

No they do not have consciousness of the self / not self aware. They live and die by the natural set of instincts they have. A fly born today will try and eat shyt and fukk the same as a fly born next year. That's why there aren't any depressed / trans-bumblebee houseflies out there :lolbron:

Yup they are. When you try to kill them. They run
:ehh:

I think that is more of an instinct, they run off a set of natural instructions. they won't equate and action to danger like we do but they will attempt to escape immediate danger.

that's reflex, instinct, whatever you wanna call it. I mean, even dead snakes with their heads cut off still have a bite reflex

insects are ruled by the most primitive drives to survive and procreate. they may run when you try and kill them but that doesn't mean they are afraid of death

Nah.

Their lives are about 7 days long. In that time they gotta be born, go thru puberty, traverse a world full of predators and bug zappers and, ultimately, have babies.

They ain't got time to be reflective n shyt.

All creatures have a survival instinct hence when you swing it dodges, and the fact they procreate shows they are about self preservation.
LOL, no it doesn't. They're just performing a function that they are capable of performing. Insects react. Theres no self awareness needed.

Edit: Also, if insects were self aware I'm sure they would have developed more complex ways of avoiding being killed by humans than just running under couches.
