:dead: Im not a cac and I visit the dentist :what: They are notorious for telling you that you need one thing when you really need another (a way cheaper price) dentistry deals with a lot of cash (even if you have insurance) so they get away with a lot. :ehh:

I have a black dentist. I have only had one cavity I'm my life (when I was a kid in the 80s), so the new boy thing they have been able to try and upsell me on is fluoride treatment. I ask if my insurance covers it 100%, and if not, I say :yayo:

Yea,I gotta get my ignition lock cylinder changed after the snow storm, I called around and asked how much it would cost, some cac told me "about 245"

I looked on Youtube n saw some dude literally do it in 3 minutes with a screw driver and pliers :heh:
How would you know about the issue if he didn't tell you? They trying to capitalize on your ignorance. That's the American way. Do you do all of your car maintenance?

I remember I went with my homie to get his oil changed, and while we were waiting, the dude came into the waiting area with a dirty air filter and kneeled down by my homie and said "yeah sir, your air filter is very dirty. We need to change it. It was so dirty, it made your headlights very dim, so we also need to replace those for 50 dollars. Wanna go 'head and do that today?":mjpls:

nikka said "Sure"

The mechanic was shocked and was like "Let's git 'er done!":gladbron::skip:

THREE-OH-FIVE TILL I DIE
I have a 2008 Impala.
And it started giving me trouble with engine overheating.

So, my homeboy who works for a MAJOR car dealership told me that he could fix my car.
Without looking at my car, he told me that it was the thermostat.
Cool. I bought a new thermostat and he installed it.

My car still overheated.

Next, he told me that it was the radiator because, "The radiator MUST BE CLOGGED UP."
Cool. I bought a new radiator and he installed it.

My car still overheated.

Then he told me that it was the water pump.
Cool. I bought a new water pump.

My car still overheated.

He then told me that he needs to take out the engine, take it to a machine shop, because, "The head gasket is blown."
He also told me that it may cost me like $550 to get the engine repaired.

Well, at this point, I realized that this whole process was fukked up.

I googled blown head gasket and a youtube video caught my attention.
It was for some shyt called BlueDevil head gasket sealer.

And the folks in the comment sections swore by the shyt.

So, I went to Autozone and paid around $55 for the big bottle.
I followed the directions to the T.
And the shyt worked like a charm.
No more engine overheating.

But, the check engine light came on after two days.
And the car would stall and had trouble starting.

I took it to my mechanic homeboy and he said that it was the spark plugs.
Cool. I bought 6 new spark plugs and he installed them.

Car still stalled and had trouble starting.

He then told me that it was some "switch" inside of the steering column.

At this point, I realized that this nga didn't know what the fukk he's talking about.

I told a mutual friend about what was going on and this nga told me that my mechanic homeboy was no mechanic at all. That he only checked and changed batteries at the major dealership he worked for.

That shyt made me so damn sad, man.
I was very upset with myself for not doing my own homework.

Anyway, I decided to buy a cheap diagnostic tool to find out exactly what was wrong with my car.

The dude at Autozone told me about this device that you attach to your car, and it will send the info to my iphone.
I paid $80 for it.
I downloaded the app and paid maybe $23 for the app to tell me how to fix the problems that it found.
It's called U-SCAN.

Anyway, I scanned my car. And it told me that the starter relay was fukked up and that a camshaft sensor was fukked up.
I replaced both and my car has been running like a champ ever since.
