The problem is a large demo of Gamers™ are 25-40 year old white men, and outrage/culture wars drives clicks to content or even fighting back against those kind of narratives puts a target on your back.

if you get serious about content creation a lot of times you’re gonna end up leaning into that kind of content and pandering to that audience. You can tell a lot of them or content creators in general don’t even believe in this junk but they still gear their thumbnails and content towards “middle ground” or “both sides”

I think there's a cultural issue that isn't being talked about much. Black people (like any other group) have various interests, but as online spaces become more radical/right wing/racist we're seeing a lot of people get absorbed into that shyt. With black men this could be gaming and anime communities. With black women it's typically gossipy celebrity communities. In both cases you see group dynamics where people become so focused on being agreeable and not causing a stir that they tolerate things they shouldn't tolerate. Like racism, sexism, etc. And sooner or later you end up like that black Nazi school shooter last year. Making black jokes, consuming endless racist content, viewing yourself as unique or different from your race.

Gaming is full of white racists who say a lot of wild shyt. Same with anime. I feel like there was a time when "black gamers" or "black anime guys" had more of a separation from the white nerd majority but it's all becoming homogenized. They all talk about the same shyt now: complaining about wokeness, complaining about women, demanding absolute purity from adaptions, etc. And then on the women side you have this entire gossip epicenter that obsesses almost exclusively about young white male celebrities (actors, singers, etc). And likewise the men they obsess over sexually tend to be white as well. And everything about their persona is based on attracting those men, including edging more and more towards anti-black rhetoric or political stances.
