Are personal trainers even worth the money anymore?

I can't get motivated to hit the gym consistently like I used to.....should I fork over funds for a trainer?

I'm just gonna copy and paste a post I made last week:
The problem is there's so much conflicting and misleading information out there that it can get overwhelming for a beginner. Not to mention all the YouTube fitness personalities and bloggers straight up trolling or lying to their audience (obviously juiced guys claiming natural, selling overpriced supplements/meal plans/workout routines that don't even work).

Not to say that personal trainers have all the right info (or even that they're not scamming their clients just like these YouTube stars), but I can't blame a newbie for trying they route rather than going through a myriad of articles, websites and videos only to be more confused after.

Not gonna lie, if you were getting ready for an NFL combine and you wanted a personal trainer to get you up to NFL level shape, that would be cool. If you are lazy bum just trying to get motivated by another person to workout, that's lame. Not even cool. If you were an old white man or a female, maybe you could get a pass.

And if you need motivation get a workout partner.

i always workout hardest when i'm competing with someone else. You don't need to pay a trainer for that.

motivation is definantly the key to being in good shape. Dont know what to tell you. My motivation is the confidence i have from having a nice body. It keeps me motivated to work out and eat healthy. Most peoples' main problem is motivation. Try taking a picture of your naked body, looking at it everyday and using that as motivation if you dont like what you see.
