Is it me or are snartphones more harder to drop on the floor these days compared to the earlier ones? I remember when I first started using smartphones around 2011-2013, I dropped my Samsung galaxy and LG phones leading to cracked screens. In fact cracked screens were very common in those days. I havenā€™t dropped a single smartphone since then nor do I see many cracked screens these days. I think I came close a few years ago to dropping my iPhone on a concrete floor but I caught it mid air. Are we becoming more experienced handling them or are they making them more sturdier to handle compared the early generation smartphones?

Once you buy a case, it's damm near impossible to drop, and even if you do the case protects it. I haven't cracked a screen in 6 years

A mix of building muscle memory after a decade, manufacturers making it difficult/costly to get repairs done, most phones even cheap ones having quality builds. 2012 smartphones are way lighter and cheaper feeling than 2022s, it's basically impossible not knowing where your phone is on you most of the time.

Cases and the fact that they got bigger helps I think.
