I just read a little about them now, I feel like I certainly must've read about them if they were associated with the Umayyad conquests, but then that means I was probably taught and led to believe that they were Arabs and not Africans.

This! When I was told about the Moorish empire in school and how they conquered parts of Europe, I was led to believe they were Arabs. Also my mom told me numerous times that when they lived in Europe, the picture of the Madonna is always black with child, even in Rome. I get sick to my stomach looking at these pictures because it illustrates the lies we have been told, and its clear they couldnt get their hands on these last pieces of documents to destroy our history.
