But on a serious note, it sounds like you're asking about jobs with security clearances the average civilian wouldn't have. I THINK you'd actually need to serve, but I'll let somebody better suited answer that.

That includes things like unsecured debt (e.g., credit card debt). The government can't have you being persuaded to give away top secret info because they offered to pay off your $50,000 credit card.

No, that was a bit of a hyperbolic statement on my part. What really matters is if you have any missed payments on that debt and/or it's currently delinquent.
