:jbhmm: or have i been on consoles too long? It's too much tech not to have something different even using old ips. For instance Socom, Combined Assault was the first game in the series to have 4 player co op. Why hasn't anyone expanded upon this? Let's say 8 player co op two squads that work in conjuction with each other. Say you need to draw enemies away from their posts by blowing up something they needed. How about a 3D shinobi game, i guess it would be similar to a ninja gadien game? I guess what i'm asking why won't they take more risk with less gimmicks?

You nikkas so busy buying 2k and Madden you don't cop the dope shyt. Capcom is a perfect example of a company that was taking risks all over the place and making some really dope shyt in the 90's and 2000's. The problem is you nikkas only bought Devil May Cry certain games or you lambasted them for SFIV. Meanwhile, they revived fighting games, came out with really dope shyt like Killer 7, Cannon Spike, Dragon's Dogma, Lost Planet, Power Stone, Steel Battalion (which I honestly would like them to do again WITH the controller), and many others that were unique.

But you won't hear about those because the vast majority of gamers go for the A-List shyt and don't want to dig the crates...I was taken by surprise that shyt like Dark Souls became popular.

Game Companies are kinda like movie studios now. You are going to have to search for the Oscar bait...may have to go to a small theater or see the limited showings...meanwhile the next Marvel film (the movie equivalent of Call of Duty) is going to show like 10 screens everywhere. Its the nature of creative media. :manny:
