Are turn-based rpg dead?

Just saw the latest FF trailer and realised I never finished FF13 because the lack of controlling the whole party pissed me off.

I just want suikoden 6

Mainstream turn based RPG's are a thing of the past, even in Japan. Everything is moving on to just cinematic set pieces when it comes to JRPGs, and then western RPGs are usually shooters with RPG elements.

Every now and then a great indie developer makes a great turn based RPG but the genre is dying out, sadly.

Also, Fire Emblem and SMT games do wild sales all things considered.

FF lost its crown a long, long time ago man. Best thing they've done this decade was FF14.

I still day dream about Suikoden - which I can't play on PS4 smmfh, Wild Arms was great.
I really do wish they add backwards compatibility from 4 to 1 on PS
