In light of recent events I've seen Drake stans claim that as many as 95 percent of rappers also don't write their own lyrics.

Cole and Kendrick most likely write their own lyrics, and those two are Drake's biggest competition. Big Sean is a writer his damn self and I doubt anyone is writing for Wale or Rocky. And because Meek Mill got so damn offended yesterday I'll lean towards him not using writers either.That's basically the whole new school writing their own raps.

Considering the GOATs won't have reference tracks exposed any time soon, I'm gonna go ahead and say the "b-b-but everyone else is doing it too! " defense doesn't work here.

There are times were artists help other artists in the studio with some raps here and there. That isn't considered ghostwriting. But Drake giving credit for writing credits to 2 rappers (Hush and Miller) and having reference tracks is disgusting.

Drake is no different than Diddy.

Drake might as well drop Drake and the OVO Family with a bunch of features.

Sort of off topic but fukk it. I don't think anyone is claming that all of Drake's lyrics were written by someone else, shyt, he probably has written songs for other ppl too. But the difference is that there isnt any proof that any of his peers who he's being compared to daily have used (ghost)writers. So for now, he cant be mentioned with the other new school top rappers.

I mean I'm a bigger ASAP fan than I am a Drake fan but if someone came out and said that one of the ASAP Mob guys helps Rocky with his lyrics, I wouldnt be surprised. Then again Rocky's name was never mentioned in top5 mc convos, not even by his fans so....

Evens Cons didn't say he wrote verses for Kanye when they where beefing. "Contributed to the writing process". Kendrick on All Day, a couple lines maybe the flow too.

Its not the end for drake cause no matter how emotional meek got he still bytched up slightly when he sobered up. And getting help is never a knock on any artist especially hit makers like kanye and drake

With that said...hes gonna have to prove him pen game on his own but the damage is done with the hip hop fans who atill cling tk the original laws of rap from damn near 40 years ago
