Black folks do not watch combat sports anymore like we used to or rather black athletes do not sign up for combat sports like they used to. We come out in droves and support dudes like Jon Jones, Anderson, and Floyd cause black fighters need the right combination of dominance, charisma, and star power to draw us in.
Combat sports are in a weak era right now. Because most of the premier athletes go towards other sports cause they pay better. Then there's the fact a lot of blacks in MMA or Boxing are only there because they couldn't make it in basketball and football. I know Mayweather said his dad forced him into it since he was an infant, he didn't choose boxing. Shane Mosley said he wasn't big enough for basketball, and Jon Jones said he sucks at basketball and football(his two brothers are in the NFL). It's sort of a Plan B for a lot of these dudes to begin with. Especially Bradley dude is a midget who gets by on hardwork and heart, he is not physically talented or gifted at all.
It'll never be as many blacks in those sports like it used to be because of that. Why would a Lebron James or Adrian Peterson built nikka go sign up for boxing/MMA and get their brains bashed in for peanuts spending the rest of their life like Ali or Freddie Roach, when he can go to the NFL or NBA for million dollar contracts, endorsements, and banging the hottest broads of all races on the best college campuses BEFORE you even go Pro?
As for the Africa thing, nikka is African American it's not his problem. I can respect that. I just don't see the point in people holding that Africa quote against Floyd. No point in investing and building somewhere else your bloodline hasn't been in over 400 years, when your house(Black America) is not fixed. We're not like the Hispanics, Asians, Irish, Italians, and Arabs who live in America. We do not know anybody from Africa in our family picture book like the previous mentioned groups do of their homeland. "What has Africa ever done for me" what he was trying to get at with that, is that some Africans are a$$holes to Black Americans. That is the perspective that Floyd was coming from with that. But people took it out of context. There's all kinds if intra-racism in Africa. Kenyans and South Africans kill Somalis for being in their country, but just last month Chinese was locking Kenyans out of stores in Kenya itself.
Floyd does all kinds of charity work in America and does things for his hometown anyway. I noticed a lot of dudes in that thread quoting Floyd on the Africa thing are not even black American anyway. Some of those dudes have even shytted on black Americans in other threads(thanks
@Poitier for staying on those nikkas)
