There will not be another boom, too many factors against it (i.e internet, UFC etc etc)

Why are those factors against Wrestling? Are people really choosing between consuming WWE programming or UFC programming?

Genuine question because I don't know anyone who's into UFC

When I say the internet, dirt sheets and spoilers have ruined some of the suspense wrestling used to have. The 18-35 demographic that WWE held with an iron fist is now owned by the UFC also the lack of competition has not helped at all, WWE will be fine but wrestling as whole may never see the mainstream popularity again

:ehh:

They went a long way to re-establishing that unpredictability last night IMO. Smarks on the internet THINK they know what's going to happen, but they don't KNOW :lupe:

And I may get a skewed perspective on American culture from the kind of internet sites I visit, idk. Wrestling seems to be over with the "hipster" type demographic to some degree. For example, you got regular wrestling content on a mainstream media source like Grantland, while they don't even acknowledge UFC.

C'mon dude you're using strawman here, you might not like or see UFC but it's there and popular and has it's on section on ESPN

no boom period, but i would like to see more storylines as a whole..can't just keep writing storylines for the World title and every other title match is just 2 people having a match for a title

I'm aware that it's popular, I just don't see how its mere existence puts a ceiling on pro wrestling's mainstream "boom" potential. There are vast swathes of society who will never give MMA the time of day. A lot of people don't want to see people being pummeled for real breh.

When wrestling is in a boom cycle, it feels like everyone watches that shyt. Not just MMA's bro demographic.

I don't know if another boom period is comin'... but I will say: there are people that I didn't even know watched wrestling that have been posting on my feed all last night and today about WrestleMania, as well as coworkers that have never brought up wrestling before. I really feel like Mania brings the wrestling fan out of people, and just like in the past, all it takes is a really successful Mania and a solid bunch of new superstars to kick it off again. I do think there will soon be more people watching WWE again.
