I hate the city levels, they dont make any sense. The levels really got stupid. Some of the levels on the original games were crazy good

As long as Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 exists I cant agree with you.
The issue is that instead of keeping it simple like Mario and expanding the world and story they tried too many gimmicks and threw people off.

I think Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic 06 are good enough proof, all fukking terrible games. but sega can do no wrong in the game OST department.
