...this mirrors everything going on today as far as the industry goes which includes cultural appropriation, blacks having to water down-sacrifice their sound, white pop charts/crossover biases, white media elevation of whites doing "black" music etc... even some on the George Michael backlash
..........there are even some criticisms by blacks who felt the the R&B being made at the time within the black community was lacking in Soul.That sounds alot like what I read/hear today
