as i hear people going through the realities of mental well-being are often a strong challenge even for professionals, so as long as his turbulence is still taking place it would be hard for anyone to maintain a total close bond. probably hurts a little bit too.

i would give myself and my brother a 7, and thats being generous.

off the strength of my mother and father we maintained being cordial through the years, but as a child he was always a bit combative. he went off to private school and lasted all through the years there and unfortunately he picked them funny-style abrasive western ways. i could go on but i am there supporting family and helping financially when i can because he does room-share that hurts me because i tried to advise him.

but all in all a solid 7, wont lie and say we are even close like the Wayans or something but you know thats life sometimes.

i am there more like a father role than a friend role, if that makes sense.

•my brother 4 years younger than me is probably the closest relationship right now, but he's in Georgia and we only talk 1-2 times a month. But we have a pretty strong bond that started developing when he was around 17 or so...

•my brother 5 years younger than me will be 28 on the 26th of this month. He was in Georgia the last 10 months but went back to Sacramento last week. He has some serious alcohol and cocaine issues, and is in denial about his role in his misfortune. Haven't talked to him in over two months, we aren't especially tight or close...

•my 26-year old brother been locked up since December 2020 on a 4-year bid for carjacking. He's got some substance abuse issues too, I check on him thru our grandma but haven't spoken to him since before he got locked up. He's in Sacramento...

•my transgender sister will be 24 in August, haven't spoken to her in a few months but we have a pretty good bond. She's in Sacramento...

He started transitioning when he was 18, changed his first name, all that. Me and my 28-year old brother the only ones who really accepted that, and while it's hard to understand, I love my siblings and when "he" asked to start being referred to as a "she", I can't go against that...

Our mother had a really hard time accepting this and only within the last two years or so started calling her by female terms...

Several years back she was dating a woman who knew she was transgendered, and 2-3 years ago she went on a cruise to Mexico and had a threesome with this guy and his woman, said she was fukking the bytch too. It's weird to me and I don't understand why she just doesn't present as a gay or bisexual male since her preference is men but she'll sleep with and date women, but it ain't my business...
