If thats the case and if we're being objective, then neither Nas or Jay would be included. It would have to be the guys who came before them that made it cool for those to want to rap.

So the question then becomes ' would rap be where it would be without those guys vs what Nas & Jigga brought to the game'

Nas and Jay have brought a lot more actually. U speaking a few years vs decades of work. But I really don’t understand these conversations from cats not from NY anyway. But regardless. Nas and Jay are locks. Really no way around it. U said all of this and even left out KRS One.

I mean, resume/tenure/excellence has to account for something, lol...I just think the overarching meaning of Mount Rushmore is more about changing things and advancements, instead of just being the best. Nas is basically an advanced Rakim, for all intents and purposes...and Jigga is an advanced Kane. Of course it's not perfect, but it kinda sorta fits, imo.

I wouldn't mind Mount Rushmore being all based on just the foundation and the luminaries tho, tbh. If that were the case, I'd have Run DMC, G, LL and Ra on it. Might have to remove one of them to get Melle on there but idk which, lol, I'm sure most would remove G or Ra
