I wonder if Morey/Mchale are going to try a small ball lineup of Beverly/Harden/Parsons/Ariza/Howard.If not, they're going to piss someone off by having one of their 2 starting SFs coming off the bench. That'll end up like the Asik situation this year.

Keeping Parsons doesn't make much sense unless one of them is ok with coming off the bench. Especially since when they match Dallas' offer, Parsons gets a no trade clause for a year.

Ariza may end up traded somewhere else if the shyt hits the fan…

I honestly thought Ariza would go to LAL or stay in DC for that type of money.

Houston traded him once and if he doesn't fit the role again, they could trade him again.

His contract is very cap friendly as well.

Was the Wizards lowballing him or did Morey pull the Texas No income Tax angle

The no income tax might be it

Wizards were offering $9 million per year, so I'd say 4 years $36 million or so according to the Washington Post and David Aldridge

I was prepared for the worst when I read we were going after Ariza but the numbers look fine to me. I'd guess we end up matching Parsons at the last possible moment. There's no more Bosh or Melo left. If Parsons walks then the team backslides and another team in the division gets better (we've already helped NO at least for this year). The Ariza contract will be easy to flip as the salary declines each year. Dwight can opt out in 16 along with Parsons. Move Ariza and we should be a player for Durant in two years despite Parsons' contract.

As far as fit Ariza or Parsons can come off the bench and be the #1 scoring option for the second team. Also allows Parsons to slide over to the pf spot at times. Ariza can sub for either Parsons or Harden which is important after they played a ton of minutes this past season. Finally I expect Morey tries to roll this over into the Asik deal:

We get Ariza and NO's #1 in 2015
NO gets Asik
Wash gets non guaranteed contracts and a 2nd rd pick (better than nothing right?)

Do this and we'd have our mle, bae, and tpe to work with too.

Always good to see the Morey haters display their ignorance :sas2:

Side note what does Dallas do if we do go ahead and match Parsons? No Parsons, no Deng, no Carter, no Ariza (for the low). Better hope Stevenson is still on the market next week...
