It's insulting how all those southern states still link it to Lee though
Arizona did it only after losing the 1991 SuperBowl when NFL players threatened to boycott. Governor Evan Mecham was a hardcore racist and he repeatedly blocked it (he was later impeached for corruption).
They finally passed the law in 1992, then Phoenix hosted game in 1996.
