Arnold Schwarzenegger been living in America most of his life. Yet he still has that fukked up accent.

Is it a conscious decision because its part of his charm/appeal? How the hell can someone speak english majority of the time yet sound fresh off the boat 50 years later. Do you think hes capable of doing an American accent? Would you even want to see it? I would.

What are some other actors that uses their accent as a crutch?

He speaks it well enough now as opposed to when he was doing Hercules in New York, I guess its part of his appeal. His career astounds me because, No one's ever been able to do the jacked up Hollywood mega star quite like him. Stallone doesn't even have anything like Arnold's run with James Cameron

Why does his accent have to change? Plenty of asians and indians who've been to the US most of their lives having an accent in their old age...black people too.

From my experience, the only ones who work hard to form the American accent are those who want to erase any evidence of where they grew up.

I actually dont believe anyone can lose their accent without actively trying to. In most cases that shyt is routed in self esteem and trying not to be clowned for being an immigrant. Arnold achieved since the 70s while being in the US, he has no reason to try and fit in by molding his accent.

Of course he won't completely lose his accent but he's obviously playing it up. The accent is a big part of his brand/success and Arnold was obviously smart enough to stick with it.

sometimes when he's talking shyt about people the accent seems to be less...accentuated i've noticed.
Its just when he's acting or making public speeches that it seems thick now.
