Brehs would you marry someone that you haven't met? Even if science suggests you would be happy?

Brehettes, what would it take for you to marry someone you don't know?

Studies have shown that arranged marriages work better than marriages for love.. :sas2:

Would you? Could you?

I honestly don't think I'm going to get married unless someone arranges it. It seems like marriages all end up being about teamwork in the long run anyway. This institution is only partially about love to begin with. As long as I had enough time to develop/work on myself and have fun on my own, an arranged marriage would be ideal.

Unless the motherfukker is ugly. :mjpls:

I don't think if mufukkas start randomly gettin paired together shyt is gonna be any better. From my understanding arranged marriages is usually a family thing where all members benefit sort of(marrying daughter off to rich man, joining families etc.), and the people partaking in it are often quite religious, so you can see why divorce is way less of a consideration in those situations.

Plus if ur not getting married for the above reasons, or for love, whats the point of getting married to a random person just to do it? Theres no purpose in it lol.

On this show it's a team of psychologist and sociologist who do the paring. The family is in the dark just like the bride and groom.

I just want to see the episode with the brother. The looks on his friends faces in the promo is priceless. I could only imagine.

I don't know.... I can't trust white folks vetting what would be appropriate for me.... there are a lot of cultural and social factors that I don't think they could ever pick up on....
I wonder if the show gives glimpses of their lives after the wedding is over...

Arranged marriages only work in cultures where divorce is not supposed to happen ever and family is more important than your personal happiness.

Arranges marriages happen all the time amongst westerners, breh. Among whites, black, latinos, all races across the U.S. They are usually arranged by powerful families for their children. It's not as bad as idians where the kids barely know each other but still arranged to some degree.

I personally know 2 people whose marriages were arranged. 1 was a haitian girl i grew up with. Her mom and the guy's parents introduced them to each other and set up the whole thing. The other one is this white dude i used to work for.

Parents introduce their kids to others all the time. Were these people specifically told that these setups were to lead directly to marriage? :usure:

Hmmm...how are their relationships holding up?

And how does that factor in?

How does it not? White supremacy hinders Black culture and community. This has had lasting negative effects on said community and an individual psyches.... Can a white person accurately evaluate that psyche without considering it a maladaption? It's very nuanced and salient the same time..
