Parents introduce their kids to others all the time. Were these people specifically told that these setups were to lead directly to marriage? :usure:
I don't know all the details. As for the chick goes I hadn't seen her in almost 15 years since she left Haiti. She was living in Boston until like 2004 and her mom moved to Miami. She came down to visit her mom and we were talking about old times. She was super shy, still had no boyfriend, never been in a relationship and was introduced to the guy in front of me by her mom. 2 months later they were engaged. A year later they were married. I asked my mom WTF happened and her response was "well, her mom wanted her to get married so she got married". When you see them and the parents together you could tell the parents masterminded the whole thing.

Mind you , they were our next door neighbors in Haiti and the chick was my babysitter. She's very quiet and i couldn't see her talking to men on her own
Hmmm...how are their relationships holding up?
The dude had been married for over a decade by the time i was working for him and he told us about it. I don't know him on a personal level like that. The topic just came up and he told us.

As for the girl, they seem cool.. but weird at the same time. Last i saw them was at my niece's first communion last year. They still seem awkward together but i guess they make it work.

How does it not? White supremacy hinders Black culture and community. This has had lasting negative effects on said community and an individual psyches.... Can a white person accurately evaluate that psyche without considering it a maladaption? It's very nuanced and salient the same time..
Wut r u talkin about :dahell:

Im askin how does this factor in in ur personal relationship? And if theyre psychologists and sociologists obviously they wont pair u up with Jim Bob from Alabama :skip:

Brehs would you marry someone that you haven't met? Even if science suggests you would be happy?

Brehettes, what would it take for you to marry someone you don't know?

Studies have shown that arranged marriages work better than marriages for love.. :sas2:

Would you? Could you?

looks interesting but i really dont think it could work. like its already been said, arranged marriages are usually family marriages. like in game of thrones(god i miss it :sadcam:)

Two Americans just don't show up at the alter and marry, no matter what the religion. They may not date but they get to see each other and talk then they decide if they want to get married.

The only exception I can think of is the Moonies, but I believe most of the spouses were from different countries. The couples in the 1982 US wedding met on the day of the wedding. Also, sometimes an American will go back to India or Pakistan and marry but once again that's not two Americans.

This show sounds like a disaster in the making.

Could someone give a recap of the show if the two black people marry each other?
