What's the original charge?

A lot of times i hear this charge being thrown around in the media but they never say what the person was being arrested for in the first place that prompted the resistance of said arrest thus the "resisting arrest" charge.

And thats not just in sports or people in the public eye. This crazy white dude i used to work with has an arrest record for "resisting arrest" but nothing else. Is this a case where the charge for the original arrest/crime was dropped/dismissed but the resisting arrest charge remained?

I'm not going to be willingly arrested unless I did something so I will catch a resisting charge each time.

They probably going to try and say disorderly conduct. They have a few little punk ass charges they could throw at him due to police discretion.
