I really hate running backs that keep the ball in one hand all the time instead of switching the ball to their outside hand.

It's so unfundamentally sound. Why wouldn't you want to use your inside hand as a weapon? I see so many running backs get stripped because the ball is facing the pursuit on the inside hand. It's disgusting. I grw up watching Payton punish niqqas with that off hand or putting it in the ground as a third leg to regain balance.

I swear, my Pop Warner coaches were so rooted in teaching fundamentals, it allowed every other coach I was under thereafter to just worry about play calling, not teaching me how to play the game.

These dudes have none of it running back wise

I didn't read the article, but the lack of the mid-range game in basketball is disgusting.

The mid-range game is alive and well, it's simply migrated to a position that gets open looks (Power Forward).

Just run down the list of teams and most of the good ones have a PF that can knock down a 15 footer.

They're the only ones tall enough to get them off with regularity.

yeah, the mid range jumper is something that just isnt true. I guess they want wing players to hit the mid range jumper like in the old days, but most of the PFs and semi-centers can hit that with ease now.

The lack of a post game is what kills me. Also cats dont use use the triple threat position much anymore. Kobe still kills defenders with that, but thats something thats long gone now for most.

I'm talking about catch-and shoot. I always hear walt frazier say its a lost art.

IMO, every SG and SF should have that in their arsenal.

The art of passing part is true to,am i the only one who loves great passing?

I think as a whole though team passing and moving without the ball, nba is all isos and pick n roll now its kind of ugly to be honest,i miss cats movign without the balls passing 4 or 5 times around

They move without the ball and pass it aorund in college but its mostly because they cant create they own shot:scusthov:

There's less spacing now, it's harder to get your shot off inside the 3 point line off dribble drives because wing defenders cover so much ground. Guys like JJ Reddikk and Jimmer Freddette can catch and shoot, they just can't get open much. Look at all the screens Ray Allen has to run off of just to get a semi clean look, dude out there doing laps.

I bet if you took some guys and placed them in an empty gym they'll make 70-80% of their mid-range shots, the issue is it's much harder to do it when a dude like KD with a 7"4 wingspan and a 9"2 standing reach are guarding you.
