I am aware of the obvious notion that half of Brazil has black ancestry. But they also have white ancestry to the same logic applies to whites. We all know white Americans have no connection to the that region. Similarly so with black Americans. There is no connection but the most the tenuous between white/black Americans, and Brazilians. The only true connection Americans have with Brazil is through sex tourism, porn, etc. So when someone says something like there's a "wedge" between people, that doesn't make sense. We just consume sex and porn from them.
