B.o.b for sure ,he's dropped a lot of good music since that should have been hits. Not really from Taking Ls but bone could have been huge in the trap era if they didn't sign shytty deals and stuck together . Dababy had 2 number ones on top 40 and fukked it up. 6 9 is probably the biggest fall off , somehow gunna ended up getting more popular after the trial . Chris Brown went after hoodrat fans and got passed by Bruno.
Dude had an incredible mixtape run then put out that wack ass album. I was done with him after that… the flat earth shyt just put the icing on the cake

Terence Trent D’Arby....

His debut was a massive success in the US and Europe to the point it seemed like he was poised for stardom. He had multiple hits, his music videos were popular, and women loved him. Then a couple years later in the lead up to releasing his second album he started popping off. He said he was going to be as big as Michael Jackson and Madonna, and he compared his first album to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, influence wise. At a time when black artists were still dismissed or separated from music canon as just being "black music" this was a major no no and he got shredded in the press.

The final nail in the coffin was his insistence that his label not release any singles or videos for his second album in 1989. I guess his ego felt that Prince had done that before so he had to match it. In reality, Prince's label caved to his demands for no singles initially on the Around The World In A Day album but they reversed course to release Raspberry Beret. Which became a massive hit. D'Arby's label didn't reverse course and it killed the album commercially. The L was so massive he didn't release an album again until 1993, and later changed his stage to separate himself from the failure lol.

A lot of these dudes careers was already over when these events happened. Chingy career was done in 2010 when the Sidney Star thing happened. B.o.B. had already fell off, that flat earth stuff is why people started talking about him again lol

Thanks to people like Lil Wayne (Kissing men, crossdressing) and Rick Ross (being law enforcement but rapping like the world's biggest drug lord) and the like...exposures no longer really mean the end of you. It's a great thing because it should just be about the music...but it's also a terrible disgusting thing because it's like yall will accept anything from anyone, no matter how weird and inauthentic it is.

That said, boy from the West who got caught sukkin dikk and all that gay shhit on video, Rashad whatever, I can't imagine yall will accept him again after that. I wouldn't be that shocked tho, tbh..

Even tho I don't fukk with CB..
He dont belong on this list..

Canibus.. he was supposed to be like one of the greatest.. Til he asked to borrow a mic :francis:

He didn't actually "lose" lyrically.

It's happened to me a few times where I was nicer than my opponent but I lost the crowd. Generally due to little stunts.

The one I learned from the most was a dude that said his worst rhyme first and I said my best one. He went on like that for multiple rounds. He would say one a little better and I would have to bring my #2. Then #3. As the bus pulled up to our middle school, he said his best rhyme and I was in the bottom of my top 5.

My best rhyme was better than his best but the only thing the crowd really registered was that last round.

Cool J vs Bis wasnt that scenario, it was moreso that Bis had no hits and no pop attributes. People that really loved him were fans from his features and the technical bars. He never captured a wide audience.

I listen to Poet Laurette II regularly. When I first go ahold of it - years after it's debut - I bumped it back to back to back many times.

LLs reply to 2nd Round KO was not good. I don't know how he "won".
