this comes from a friend admitting they weren't sad about prince's death and one of their friend's being mad as fukk at them for that :heh:

mine are:

biggie - i mean, he had music i liked, but i didn't love his music and i never really "connected" to him as a person. i felt the need to play the part when he died, but really, it was more like "that's too bad" :ld: and kept it moving

left eye - i'm a TLC stan, that was my group, but individually, left eye just wasn't a personal fave. i remember them playing hella TLC songs on the radio the day she died and i was scared it was t-boz (since she has sickle cell), as bad as it is to say, but i was relieved when i heard it was left eye :sadcam:

if he were to pass, jay-z would be another. dude has accomplished so much as a rapper and is definitely one of the GOAT's, i'll feel the pressure to act like i care more than i do

This a cold ass thread:heh:
lol, it's not cold. this isn't some "actually i was like fukk them" thread, but come on, it's always some artist dying who was huge or super important who you feel pressured to act like you cared deeply about, when really you just wanna say :rip: and get on with your day

Never pretended about anybody, if I don't like the artist like that will just say nothing or a simple condolence, if it's someone that effects me on a deeper level may try say or do something extra.

Selena...my Mexicanism would have been revoked if I hadn't shown some sadness :lupe:

Oh man......I was in the 6th grade/living in the Southwest when that happened. You would've literally gotten beat like a pinata for that:merchant:

But I was actuall sad when she died. Her body was incredible back then...pre internet models/fake asses.

I'm desensitized now, but back then, her body looked straight out of a comic book.

All that talent being cut short at age 24 didn't make you sad? All that wit and charisma...gone.

The senselessness of it?

what i'm saying is it was sad, but there was no void left in my heart, i wasn't thinking about it for days. i was really sad when people like michael jackson, 2 pac, and aaliyah died. like for days it felt like i lost someone i knew. big had that impact on a lot of people so i felt the need to act sadder than i was...that's what i'm getting at with this thread.

also, it took me being in my 20's to realize how young pac and big were when they died, i was a kid when they died so they seemed much older
