Out here in my damn drawls
We're talking strictly about presence and the command that a certain artist had over you as a listener.

Artists that come to mind for me are:

-Pac:
Not the greatest lyricist, but he was the master at drawing people in and making you forget about everybody else on the track. Alot of people tried to duplicate but they just get the automatic :camby: because it's so clear it's not real

-ODB: Strange, but :yeshrug:. He mastered his style and was my favorite member of clan. I was always waiting for his verse, and I don't know why, but the nikka just spoke to me :skip:

-DMX: He'sthe reason I thought started the thread. I wasworkin' out this morning and had my music on shuffle and dat Life is what you make it track with Nas came on and I ain't hear that shyt in forever. I am a Nas fan, but X made ol' boy sound straight up boring. It's not just that song tho; Every feature this dude is on he is the showcase, at least for me

-Andre 3000: Why nikkas keep letting him get features on their track, I have no clue, but dude makes you listen to every word in the verse and brings it all together and stays true to the theme of the song. I admit, that voice that he uses on certain songs have me like :wtb: sometimes, and his lyrics and metaphors as crazy as people make them out to be, but he does go in and he's usually the biggest draw on a record

Biggie smalls. He was an excellent writer but one reason as to why many believe he is one of the greatest storytellers of all-time has a lot to do with his vocals. Then going by your examples the ultimate renegades, "Victory" "Flava In Ya Ear" et cetera.

Jay-Z

/thread

I like Joe Camel, but he gets shown up a lot on records, notably the whole Watch the Throne Album or anytime he was on a record with Freeway or Beans. He has a boring presence, :yeshrug:

Biggie is the greatest man, LISTEN TO THIS nikkaS PRESENCE ON THIS shyt :whew:

I still think he was overshadowed by Pac on this everytime I hear it. It's just preference I guess
