Won't say he would have gone down as the GOAT center but I remember when he played for the blazers and some of the things that he did :why::why::why: I was pretty impressed.

So if Sabonis came over when had gotten drafted, what would we be saying about him today ?

He's a top 10 Center ever.

In his prime, he'd be considered below Kareem/Wilt/Shaq/Hakeem - probably at the top of that next tier with Ewing, Robinson, etc.

Somebody like @Malta could bring some light to the situation.

he was just alright on the Blazers but that was after all those injuries and past his prime

gave Admiral that work in the 88 Olympics :whew:

but then again we all know that you can't depend on Spurs big men to lead your team to a gold medal :mjpls:

Better than Dirk:birdman:

I think he would have been a 20/10 player for 10 years had he come over in the mid 80s,tough to say for sure but look at how he was big brotherin D Rob in the Goodwill games in 86...He played big and had Dream like passing and shooting skills...

This cat had tons of game and you could still see it in Portland when he was flabby with 2 busted knees.

Past his prime plus his body broke down on him real fast once he got to the NBA

I remember really liking this guy when I was a kid. Way past his prime when he was on the Blazers but I was still :whew: when I watched him play.

Anybody remember that one multi-overtime game between the Suns and the Blazers where Sabonis hit that 3 to send it into OT and then Rex Chapman hit another 3 to either send it into another OT or win it. shyt was classic. :wow:

Miss the days of swagged-up, charismatic Euro big men like Sabonis, Smits, and Divac. The NBA needs more cats like that.
