As a man, why are you excited for your birthday?

If you excited for your own birthday whatever. That's you.
BUT don't expect anyone around you to give a damn or expect any special treatment.
When people look back on their life their favorite moment isn't "my xx birthday"
Nah it's the time they fell in love, or they achieved their goals, or they had kids. It wasn't expecting your family to sing a stupid ass song to you again this year.
Be proud of something that happens to 2 billion people everyday
Be a grown man with a birthday hat thinking "it's my special day" I deserve extra attention at Applebee's
Rent is due, the gym isn't coming to you, that girl isn't gonna say hi to herself, you ain't getting paid to dream about getting paid.

For my 30th me and a group of friends went to vegas. Why wouldn't I be excited for that? Mind you I get bullied into doing birthday stuff by friends and family because they actually care about me. Maybe OP should surround himself with better people

I don't celebrate my birthday and I think it's weird how adults plan their own birthday parties now
That being said I did go out with friends on my 30th and went to at least 1 other 30th party for a dude. otherwise i literally don't know none of my friends birthdays by heart cause none of them publicly celebrate it far as i can tell

A high school friend of mine died in a car accident a week or so ago
I am pretty sure he and his family would be ecstatic if he had made it to his next bday
