Never was a fan of his, but never hated him either. He has some songs/verses I like, but never went out of my way to REALLY listen to him. Never felt like I really missed anything if I decided to pass on his stuff.
To me, he never solidified his niche fanbase.
He was trying to stay afloat with too many audiences.
Wale’s OG backpacker fanbase felt alienated when he made his MMG move.
And the MMG crowd is just the mainstream crowd who just moved on when the next hot crew came along.
He was definitely successful but all dudes big singles were female directed.
And it’s not like he ran that lane either, he just occupied that spot when Drake or Cole weren’t dropping albums.
Let alone his terrible attitude, Cudi dissing him, always bytching about his spot in the game even while he was getting platinum singles/albums.

I like this song
I read on coli about him and how good he is but what little of him I heard I never liked him. I am from the golden age of MC's. and you dont have to be super lyrical for me to like you. his flow and delivery just isnt good to me and he sounds bland.
