Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
timestamped

The video is about a great program we got locally and it's good to put the kid in this situation for experience purposes but he seemed very uncomfortable and lacked confidence when speaking to the host.

How can we improve the youth's skills as far as talking with authority figures? @Gifted one I know you're about that life...advice?

I think effective communication and an underdeveloped skill in the hood which is honestly pretty important when it comes to getting a job.

Ironically I was just having a conversation earlier related to this subject, imo public speech should be a mandatory course for kids just like mathematics or science beginning in middle school all the way through high school. I dont know how it is now but when I was in HS there were speech courses but they were voluntary, it wasnt until I got to college I had to take it. Clearly the kid was nervous and hadnt had much preparation articulating his thoughts in a formal setting.

Social skills is very necessary skill to develop as you get older the sooner you start as a child the better you get.

My social interaction skills are at .1% if I were in his situation I would be completely shut down due to my anxiety problems.

Heck,I've already skipped two class presentations this semester in highschool "sociology class" due to my extreme fear of speaking and socializing with others, not a word comes out of me during the day and I'm a nervous Rekt.

It needs to start early but I'm sure speech classes would be great for someone older in need of improving their speaking and social skills, unfortunately in my case I have more deeper social issues that affect me.

Man straight truth right here. There's so many hood dudes at my job who could be managing the place but they just don't have have the skills to communicate proficiently to higher ups let alone grunt employees. shyt saddens me tbh.

i'd be comfortable with the situation becasuse i took a debate class my freshman year and it made enabled me to be more open when speaking to people. But yeah, I agree with the poster who pushed for mandatory public speaking classes. schools need to teach students things that will benefit them in society, not just in academia. i also think we should have mandatory economics classes.....but that is another topic (I don't even know how to buy a house :mjcry:. i'm screwed :pachaha:).
