Low key, Cudi's Man on the Moon: End of Day is the type of music that Kanye has failed at making since 2008. I know Cudi was a major part of 808's, but it didn't feel as well executed as End of Day. Some of that sound was also present on MBDTF ("Runaway", "Blame Game"), but again, it didn't feel as well executed. A lot of Yeezus is like that too. Of course this is just my take on it.
