You can try to impress white people, and be ironic for them all you want. The fact remains that if one can't separate the individual from their negative generalizations, there's absolutely nothing you can do to chage their perspective. Especially if one is looking for a reason to kill you. If you want black men to be better parents, have them do it for their black kids, not the approval and proverbial pat on the head from white people.

Find a sphere of influence, occupy it. Look how feminists infiltrated government and campuses, we need to do that. There are blueprints for this sort of thing.

It is useless for blacks who are actually on the right track (or trying to get on the right track) to pander to the ignorant non-black bases. We are the most feared people in America because of our potential, and they aren't going to give us respect just because the black community as a whole improves.
If a white person sees a brother looking clean in a suit, many of them will assume were either going to church or court, ONLY one or the other. We are the only race that gets called a thug when were doing the wrong thing and even worse, an oreo when were doing our own thing, right to our faces, and they see nothing wrong/offensive about that.
We can talk about building black businesses and our reputation, but the reality is that would take us decades and from what I see most of the real intelligent blacks on this forum are 20-30 years old, we are just putting the puzzle pieces together. And today there are more blockades than ever before we set up shop, we have to take more useless classes/programs than ever, file more papers than ever, and need to have more cash on hand/loans than ever. All of that is not by accident.
And then you have on the other hand all these expired blacks on their soapbox who are 35 and older like Tommy Sotomayor/Painlessrisen who want to talk down to other blacks about the missteps blacks have made, meanwhile they haven't built anything themselves and wouldn't really care if things didn't change. They are just okay with being the last negro standing while they look down at us....No respect for those "elders". We do need to be in control of our own destiny but pandering is not the way to do it.
