But he wasn't the backup C this team needed. My eyes were on Dedmon and the Spurs picked him up for 2 years $6M. He had a player option and signed a MLE deal with Atlanta last summer.

I also would have kept our 2017 1st rounder and used it on Allen like the Nets did. OR traded up for John Collins.

With the league salary inflating, your numbers don't add up. Let's start there. Ian was coming off a great year in Indiana and was entertaining offers from most of the league at the time we signed him. You suggested that this rising prospect deserves Kwame Brown after leaving LA money before the salary cap went up.
