dude even had the hookblade and parachutes

Connor "WHERE CHARLES LEE AT" Kenway was mad bland in comparison dude didn't even smash once in the game dude was 30 and not a single puzzy

The modern story has always been dumb, irrelevant and one's that's meant to be ignored. It's only there to pad the game out.

The time periods/past storylines are the ones that matter and why you've picked up one of the games in the fist place. Which is to play a third person stealth game that's set in unique historical time period.

They don't market the modern side for a reason, so you're better off just completely ignoring it.
