I don't think there was a "reason", he just didn't make it. The big argument at the time was that Shaq hadn't accomplished enough yet to be on the list, but obviously in hindsight and at the time everybody KNEW he'd eventually be one of the greatest.

I'm one of those guys who don't consider it a "slight" that Nique didn't make it, it's just he simply didn't make it. Everybody on the list deserved to be on the list, even though you can easily make an argument that Dominique was a better player than some of the other names on the list. It just is what it is.
