Dirk is a straight up legend. It's sad that his Franchise never put the right players around him. Like when I think of Tim Duncan I think of Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili alongside him. When you think of Dirk who do you think of alongside him? Michael Finley and Steve Nash? Devin Harris and Josh Howard? It's sad that Dirk even took less money a few seasons ago for them to get him some good role players and still the Mavs organization effed that up.

Now, you got the homie at age 37 (!) still having to play his ass of to try to get his team into the playoffs. I'm sorry but I think the Mavericks are a poorly run franchise. They won the title in 2011 and right away dudes blew up their team. Seems like all the management out there does is make stupid decision after stupid decision.

I could be wrong about this as I'm just on the outside looking in, but I honestly think Dirk would have multiple rings if his Front Office wasn't so incompetent.

except for the 2012-13 season, the mavs have made the playoffs every year since 2001. and that includes 3 60+ win seasons and 1 title

poorly run franchises don't have that type of long term consistency

Yeah but they have a Hall of Famer in Dirk who is always able to carry them to the Playoffs no matter what. Dirk missed a lot of games that season which played a large part in them not being able to make it to the playoffs. It's always Dirk or bust on that team, if he can't carry them then they fail. Maybe using the term "poorly run franchise" is harsh, but to go this long without putting a legit #2 and #3 option around Dirk is incompetent in my opinion. The Spurs can afford for Duncan to miss significant amount of time because they have legit #2 and #3 options plus a bunch of key role players. If Dirk misses a significant amount of time the Mavs ain't making the playoffs. I hope y'all can see how that's problematic for a player who is now 37 years old.

For all the talk about the refs in that Heat-Mavs series in 2006, nobody ever talk about the refs being equally shytty in that Mavs-Spurs series that same year

Dallas had a free throw parade that whole series. shyt just came back around against them in the Finals, karma if you ask me
You sure it was 2006?:patrice:

Game 1...30-28 Spurs
Game 2...43-37 Mavs
Game 3...50-32 Mavs
Game 4...32-32
Game 5...31-19 Spurs
Game 6...34-20 Spurs
Game 7...39-31 Spurs

Total... 235-223 Spurs

Looks like both teams were in that parade breh:dame:

Probably the best playoff series I've seen tho....
Duncan & Dirk in their primes
Game 7 went to OT

Duncan had 41 n 15
Dirk had 37 n 15
