I always viewed this as stuff younger kids did because of money situations, but I'm seeing people past 25 still doing, this... In Ny people older like 32...33

Is this corny?

Hell, I'm 28 and thinking about doing this sh1t, LA is too damn expensive...

I don't think so. Of course, I think most people would rather live on their own if the finances allowed, mostly for the freedom and all of that (and if you ever get a taste of that freedom, getting a roommate afterward is a HARD transition to make and one I wouldn't advise unless you're like hella tight with said roommate). But at the end of the day, most people end up with some variation of a roommate eventually (wifey, live-in girlfriend, etc.) as it is.

To answer the question, I think it'll probably start looking corny if you're like, mid to late 30s with no chick or man to call your own. By that age, a person should have advanced far enough in a career to not need to live with someone to make ends meet.

How is it corny. If you not married or engaged or have kids its actually the smart thing to do no matter how old you are. Moving in a place by yaself even though ya finances are tight or slightly relax BC you don't want to look corny is the epitome of stupidity.:heh:

I agree,

I'm just like, at a certain age shouldnt you be secure for yourself, and have something to call your own?

Base your life on others breh and brehettes

People live all sorts of ways. I guess if you grew up rich and privileged you simply can't understand.

If u want a roommate to split the cost on a spot for whatever reason than I see nothing wrong with it.

Exactly. What's corny is having no money trying to show how independent you are to people who really don't matter, nor do they really care. They might think you are a loser or something until they realize you have have a ton in savings and nothing to pay off. We always sit back and wonder how these Indians and Mexicans are starting all of these businesses despite coming here with nothing. The reason why? They aren't raised with that American consumerist, I mean individualist, mentality. You might have 5 Mexicans in a house splitting bills and then possibly pooling money together to start a lawn care business and you have the same thing with those Indians buying up gas stations or hotels.
